'Never seen a PM descend so low': Yashwant Sinha on PM's campaign tactics

Former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha has launched an attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of stooping to unprecedented lows to secure votes in the ongoing Lok Sabha polls. Sinha's remarks have added fuel to the opposition's calls for action by the Election Commission against Modi's electoral statements.

Taking to social media, Sinha expressed his dismay, stating, "Never before have I seen a PM descend so low as the present one to get votes." Sinha, who has closely observed Indian PMs since Nehru's era and served under two, condemned Modi's campaign tactics as unprecedented.

Sinha's comments comes amid BJP's continuous attacks on Congress manifesto. 

Despite his apparent absence from active politics, Sinha remains vocal on social media, frequently targeting the central government and Prime Minister Modi. In a recent tweet, he indirectly questioned Modi's credibility, asking, "How much will this man lie?"

Having parted ways with the BJP in 2018, Sinha later joined Mamata Banerjee's TMC in 2021. He was endorsed by the Combined Opposition Parties as their presidential candidate for the 2022 Presidential election, albeit losing to NDA candidate Droupadi Murmu.
